Grantsville is a small city located in Tooele County, Utah. It was first settled in 1848 by Mormon pioneers and was originally known as Twenty Wells, after the numerous natural springs in the area. The city was officially founded in 1850 and was named after George D. Grant, the leader of the first group of settlers. Grantsville quickly became an important stop along the Overland Stage Route and later the Pony Express.
